Consultation

Here at s3 Dental our aim is to preserve natural teeth.  In order to recommend the best treatment option to improve the appearance of your teeth, there are many factors that our dentists take in to consideration at the initial consultation, including primary concerns, age, budget and existing restorations already in the mouth.  There are instances whether other treatment modalities may be advised such as porcelain veneers or orthodontics due to their own advantages, however we are seeing more and more cases when composite re-contouring is the treatment of choice due to its unique advantages..some of which listed below.

Quick - Treatment is usually carried out in one session

Cost - The cost of composite veneers are more cost effective than porcelain veneers

Adjustments - Once the composite is bonded onto the teeth, it can shaped / polished to your aesthetic preference.

There are also limitations associated with all treatments that we carry out - for instance maintenance but our dentists will discuss these with you at the initial consultation

Treatment

The teeth to be treated are first cleaned, polished and then etched with a acid gel to enable the composite to chemically bond onto the teeth.  The resin or composite is then painted onto the tooth surface and shaped accordingly.  We have numerous different shades and colours to mimic the dentine or enamel already on the tooth.  In most instances no drilling or injections are involved.
